Simi Valley City Clerks Office

Today, 07/24/2024 at 12:15pm, I was sworn by Lucy Blanco, the City Clerk, as an officially registered candidate for the office of Mayor of Simi Valley.

I must say every person I have delt with at the City has been awesome to interact with.  The entire staff has been friendly, encouraging, patient and absolutely helpful.  My thanks and appreciation goes out to each and everyone of them.

Even though I have been working on my campaign for a few months already, as of today, the Campaign is officially on.  I have until November 5th to earn to vote of 120,000 Simi Valley citizens, and now is the time to really get going.

Simi Valley City Council Meeting 07/22/2024

I attended the July 22nd, 2024 Simi Valley Council Meeting.

I was nice to see the meeting seemed well attended.

I spoke about the environmental disaster currently happening in Simi Valley during the Public Comments portion of the meeting.

The City Council seemed truly interested in what I was reporting on.

There is a leaking oil well head sitting a few yards away from the Arroyo, about a 1/3rd mile up Chivos Canyon Road.  For those of you who are unfamiliar with the location of Chivos Canyon, is the next canyon just east of Tapo Canyon.

I first discovered the large pool of raw crude oil over 12 years ago.  I went up there on 07/21/2024 to take some pictures of the mess.  What I saw left me speechless.  The original pool has grown 10 fold over the past dozen years.  I was besides myself at thought of all the rains we have had the past couple years, resulting in of the thousands of gallons of oil & toxins washed down the Simi Arroyo and spreading those toxins all the way to the beach.

The entire City Council said on record this is the first they all have heard about it, and will look into right away.

Sadly, they didn't say they will take action right away to prevent any further contamination of the Simi Arroyo.

Ventura County Board of Supervisors Meeting 07/23/2024

I attended the Ventura County Board of Supervisors Meeting on 07/23/2024.

Great showing of support for the Parents Against Santa Susana Field Laboratory.  Please check for more information at www.toxicsantasusana,com.

It was an awesome crowd, and I was so happy to be a part of it.  The County Supervisors got to hear from everyone one of there voicing our concerns over our continued continuing toxic exposure from SSFL, and demanding a complete clean up of toxic superfund site.
